Welcome to The Marcelo Lucero Project, a group blog of CIET's Next Steps Reading and Writing Class at LaGuardia Community College in Long Island City, Queens.
Here you will find our writings about Marcelo Lucero's tragedy and our own reflections about hate and bigotry in America. We will write about the American dream and the immigrant dream. We will write about the challenges of being immigrants and also about our successes and celebrations. Through the power of authentic voices, we will find community; and through our words, healing.
