The lawyer did sing, that the teenager was innocent, but that even if he were guilty,he did not
intend to kill or hurt anyone.
William Keahon, told the jury on Monday that none of the witnesses presented by the prosecution testified that they saw his client stab, punch or kick anyone that night.
Mr. Keahon seemed to take this uncertainty into account, as he argued the wound itself illustrated that Mr. Conroy did not intend to kill or seriously hurt Mr. Lucero .
The lawyer repeated, one of his central themes throughout the trial. Keahon said Mr.Lucero should not have died from the wound.
Mr. Keahon admitted at one point that some of the things his client said on the stand " were stupid"adding of Mr. Conroy's decision not to wait in the car alone : should he have been there with them.
