An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow
confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.

What did the lawyer say?

William Keahon told the jury "that none of the witnesses presented by the prosecution testified that they saw his client stab, punch or kick anyone that night." Mr. Keahon admitted at one point that some of the things his client said on the stand "were stupid," adding of Mr. Conroy's decision not to wait in the car alone; "should he have been there with them? No." Mr. Keahon repeat one of his central themes throuhout the trial. "Nearly 40 minutes elapsed from the time a 911 call went though to the time Mr. Lucero arrived at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center, though the hospital is about three miles from where Mr. Lucero was found. Mr. Keahon said Mr. Lucero should not have died from the wound."
